1. Gin and Tonic

The classic gin and tonic is the perfect refreshing drink on a warm summer night with friends. Simple and easy to make, this should be the first drink every 20-something should learn how to make. With the lack of sweetness you won’t have to worry about nursing a hangover in the morning.

2. Martini

3 oz vodka or gin

1 oz dry vermouth

3 olives

The sexy and classic martini is usually associated with suits, dashing men, and James Bond. Another clear drink, like the gin and tonic, can go straight to your head with the main part of the drink being alcohol. Though not for everyone, you have a choice of whether to use regular vodka or gin as the liquor.

3. Margarita (Frozen)

1 (6 oz) can of frozen limeade

6 oz tequila (silver or gold)

2 oz triple sec

The classic frozen lime margarita is meant to be shared! This recipe will make a pitcher of margaritas to share with all of your friends for one of those crazy tequila-filled nights. Simple and cheap, this mixture is perfect for college kids trying to save money by making their own drinks on the weekends instead of going to the bars.

4. Whiskey Sour

1.5 oz whiskey of your choice

1 maraschino cherry

4 oz sour mix

1 oz lemon juice

1 oz sugar

2 oz water

This flavorful drink will make you feel warm inside from the whiskey of your choice. Colorful, sweet, yet sour this classic drink will definitely make an impression on your guests, especially with the homemade sour mix! The ingredients are simple and super easy to make.

5. Cosmopolitan

1.5 oz vodka

1 tbsp lime juice

1 oz triple sec

1.5 oz cranberry juice

1 lime wedge

This classic pink drink is a girly take on the martini. This drink is perfect for a girl’s night in gossiping about boys and A-list celebrities (i.e. Brangelina’s divorce!). The recipe is a little more complicated than the original martini, but the extra work is worth it! Sweet from the triple sec and bitter from the cranberry juice, this has definitely become a go-to drink for you and your friends!

6. Bloody Mary

1.5 oz vodka

3 oz tomato juice

Juice from 1 lemon

½ tsp Worcestershire sauce

3 drops Tabasco

¼ tsp celery salt

Salt and pepper to taste

For those mornings of homemade brunches with friends after a late night out on the town, the Bloody Mary is the perfect drink to nurse your hangover. With just a tad of liquor, this drink will definitely give you the wake up call you need with the spice of the Tabasco sauce (you can also add ¼ tsp of horseradish to give it that extra kick!).
